Siju Michael DiMaggio is the owner-operator of Family Kung Fu & Wellness Center in Mashpee. His 35 years’ experience in martial arts includes working with kids and adults of all ages. Honoring Family traditions in his Kwan, Mike’s teaching is based on strong foundations built on hard work, 100% effort, discipline, respect and a love of the art.
In 1985, after graduating from Barnstable High School, Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, receiving basic combat training at Parris Island. South Carolina. After basic training. Mike embarked on the 18-month formal education in his chosen MOS 6413 Avionics Technician. The Marine Corps instilled in him discipline, focus and the drive for excellence. These qualities were deeply rooted and would later become the foundation of his martial arts journey as a student, a competitor, a coach and a teacher.
Siju Mike’s Martial Arts journey started here in Mashpee. He received his first level black sash in 1997 and opened his first martial arts studio in Sandwich that same year. On the infamous day of September 11, 2001, Sijo Mike opened his first Kwan in Mashpee. He has been teaching and spreading the benefits of his art ever since.
I began teaching classes to help younger students find their footing in martial arts. Sharing my knowledge and watching others develop their skills is what gives me the most joy. I’ve learned the importance of patience and adaptability.
Here at the Kung Fu Center, our team understands that every student learns differently. Guiding them requires both empathy and clear communication. I am excited for the future, eager to face new challenges and committed to sharing the enduring spirit of martial arts with others.
